I had been wondering about Ella. Now that she was healed I began to ask myself questions as to
how she managed to get her hands on any advanced Elvish texts on magic.
I certainly didn't have any lying around the house, and Ella never went outside without me and never strayed from the yard. So I pondered on how she had managed it.
Me: Ella?
Ella: Yes.
Me: I was wondering how you were learning advanced magic with any instruction.
Ella: Oh, sorry I forgot to tell you about my chest!
Me: Your chest?
Ella: Yeah, my Treasure Chest!
Me: Oh, your treasure chest?
Ella: Yes. Every Wood Elf owns one, and can summon it wherever they are.
Ella: They're used to keep special items in. Like this necklace for example, it was a present
my mummy gave me when I was little. When I wasn't wearing it, I'd keep it in my Chest. I'm glad I did, or I might have lost it forever.
Me: So, you can summon this chest at will?
Ella: Yes. Watch. * mutters *

Me: Wow!
Ella: This is it, my Treasure Chest.
Me: And this is where you were able to keep Elvish texts?
Ella: Yes.
Ella: See?
Ella: These are ancient scrolls on our culture, history, and of course magic.
Me: And it was using these that hurt your hand?
Ella: Well, not these specifically, but another scroll at the bottom of the chest, yes.
Me: I see. Well it certainly looks like quite a collection.
Ella: Yes.
Ella: This sword was my daddy's when he was a young elfling.
Ella: And this,
Ella: This is a calling stone. But I'm don't know how to work it yet.
Me: That looks old.
Ella: It is. It's an ancient scroll that teaches Advanced Elvish magic. But it's written in one of the Lost languages and I'd only just started learning them when I came here.
Me: And yet you still attempted the spells?
Ella: Well, yes. I thought that maybe if I tried I could figure it out. Guess I was wrong.
Me: Maybe when you're older, we'll try again together.
Ella: Ok. * smiles *
